This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How would you like to sit and read in a hard chair? Perhaps you would be more comfortable sprawled out on a rug or curled up in a beanbag chair.

I teach at a unique urban school.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds. I teach students Kindergarten through fifth grade, many of whom have individual needs that does not allow them to attend school daily. Many of the students I teach have emotional and social issues, have frequent medical treatments, have safety concerns, have difficulty in a traditional school setting and/or are homeless. My students each face their own challenges everyday outside of school.

My Project

My students need a comfortable, welcoming place in our classroom where they can sit and read. They need a rug they can sprawl out on and beanbag chairs that they can curl up in so they they can be comfortable and read. If they have a nice quiet library area, they will want to sit there and read the many books in our new classroom library. They will have a new revolving bookstand and book storage boxes. This will be their quiet, comfortable place to enjoy a good book by themselves or with a friend.

My students need to have a safe, quiet place where they can sit and read.

A hard chair is not comfortable, but a beanbag chair is. Who wouldn't want to curl up and read a good book, or sprawl out on a new rug to share a book with a friend. Help me provide a fun, comfortable place for my students to read the many great books in our new classroom library.
