This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a K-5 school in New Jersey. Many of the students I have come from low-income families. The majority of my students are special education students, along with students whose second language is English. My students come to school everyday and expect to learn in a positive and supportive classroom. That is just the environment I have created for them.
My students have many different personalities and are so creative when it is time to work.
Their love of reading and academics fills the room. They surprise me everyday with their knowledge and their critical thinking.
My Project
Who doesn't love a good comfy chair when they are reading? My students love working around the classroom during independent reading or work time. I would love a place where they can dive into a good book and relax while doing it! These bean bag chairs will help my students relax and create an adventure in their mind while reading their favorite book!
Using a flexible seating approach helps students take charge of their own learning in a fun and comfortable way.
D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) is some of my student's favorite time of day. For 20 minutes they forget about what is going on at home or school and immerse themselves into their favorite book.
