Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a K-8 public school in the Bronx. I have 25 bright children with a need and want to succeed. My students favorite part of the day is Center Time. During centers, the students are allowed to participate in learning games and activities that are differentiated to meet their individual academic needs. They look forward to showcasing their strengths; as well as, practicing in areas where they struggle. They enjoy using the materials provided as a way for them to interact with others in the class.

As a teacher, I believe that to create a deep understanding of information is to learn through exploration.

With help, I want to continue to provide a classroom environment that is filled with the learning tools that will allow my children to explore and learn new information in an engaging way.

My Project

A supportive and comfortable learning environment provides students with an opportunity to grow as learners. I want to create a learning environment where students feel safe to express themselves.

A Teepee is a great resource for children to read a good book in.

The portable writing tables provide students with the opportunity to write anywhere in the room, eliminating the anxiety associated with sitting in a formal desk. The literacy games provide my students with engaging material that meets their individual needs. My hope is that my students will see that learning can be done anywhere, using just about anything.
