A Comfortable Place for Young Readers, Please?!?

My students need 7 beanbag chairs to make reading more comfortable and cozy.

My Students

How do you enjoy reading a book more?-- sitting at a table, back straight, feet firmly on the floor or lounging on a big comfy beanbag? I know that I personally love to be comfortable while I dive into a book and my students do, as well!

I teach a class of 27 Gifted and Talented Second graders who absolutely love to read!

They love to lounge on the floor on beanbags or our carpet getting lost in their favorite stories. Last year, our beanbags had to be thrown out after 6 years of use. We are starting our new year without any comfortable places to read our books!

My Project

If you donate to this project, you will help to provide comfortable beanbag chairs to my students. These chairs help to become an incentive for my students to read for longer periods of time. When they are able to lay down and read, they tend to enjoy their independent reading time much more than when sitting at their desks.

By helping to provide these resources to my students, you will help to continue the development of these blossoming young readers.

You will help to show them that reading can be an amazing experience when you are comfortable while doing it. Although this may not sound like a very important resource, I truly believe that the more comfortable and homey a classroom is, the better the students will learn. Thank you, in advance, for considering the comfort of our students!
