Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have already created a safe space for upcoming students in a colorful and bright way. I learned alot this past school year, especially since it was my first year as a second grade teacher. I learned that students really enjoy the use of color and it creates a safe space for them. I know if I bring in these pieces, they would really be loved by any student.

Flexible seating is a must in our colorful classroom and having a carpet and stools would fit perfectly alongside a visual timer for daily routines.

Our carpet would be used during our social emotional time, special reader, or a place to sit comfortably while reading a book or working independently. Our stools would benefit at our group table and be used to work in small groups or be used for flexible seating around the room. I have learned that the use of timers helps not only myself but many students who need to see how much time is passing or how much time they have for certain tasks and can aid with time management or routines.

These materials would be greatly appreciated and would go to a great space. All of the materials are missing puzzle pieces to our colorful puzzle of a classroom.
