My Students

My students are so full of life and love of learning. The population, of our little Title I school in Brooklyn, NY is made up of many different cultures, from all over the world, who work together to help build peace at home, at school and in our community.

My students are the peace builders for the future.

They are learning to communicate and collaborate to solve problems and learn. They are learning to have a growth mindset and know that mistake only opens another door towards the solution. They will practice these skills and more as we explore through STEAM activities.

My Project

The STEM Coding Robot Mouse classroom set and additional Robot Mouse resources will be used to expand on what my students have learned about coding already. They love using coding now with simple tasks and mostly pencil and paper. This project would take coding to the next level.

Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future.

The Coding Robot Mouse will allow them to tackle longer and more complex mazes. It will help build their higher order thinking skills which is needed to be College and Career ready. The tarps and painters tape will allow the studetns to work in groups to create their own mazes for the robots and take it outside the box.

With the Coding Robot Maze my students will see the process of trial and error as they plan a sequence for the robot to travel though. They will learn that they are not making mistakes. They are learning what doesn't work which will lead them to finding what does work.
