Help me give my students math manipulatives and a place to keep them organized!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Rizo's classroom raised $342
This project is fully funded
My Students
My classroom consists of 25 kind, energetic, diverse, inquisitive second graders who are always eager to learn! I work at a Title I school in Flushing, NY, working with a large immigrant/low-income population.
My students are avid learners but lack the materials needed for a successful school year.
Because of this, I want to make sure that when my students enter my classroom, they have access to all the necessary resources and materials to succeed. Please help my students reach their goals as they strive to be successful and are excited to learn every day.
My Project
In our classroom, we are working on building an area where students can have access to various math manipulatives. By doing so, students will be able to solve math problems in various ways. These drawers will be used to store unifix cubes, clocks, shapes, counters, dry erase boards, etc. We are also asking for tens frames to help us with our math.
I would like to provide each math group with their own set of manipulatives so it is organized, and they have the accessibility to whichever they need.
Instead of having one area, where all students will have to take up a lot of time and wait to have a turn to get these materials, the drawers will be brought to them at each individual table.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
