My Project
As most kindergarten classrooms do, our class meets on our class rug for about half of our day. We have morning meeting here. We read aloud stories. We learn and work as partners on the rug.
The rug I have chosen will be large enough to accommodate all 25 of my students.
This will allow my kindergarteners to sit in a circle around the edge for greeting one another each morning. We also sit in a circle for social emotional learning. Kindergartners are learning to stay in their own space. This rug will give each student their own designated square space for teacher directed learning when sitting in rows.
Our current rug is one solid color and does not fit all of us comfortably. It would be wonderful to see my students’ faces if they were to walk in and see a kindergarten appropriate rug in our classroom.
