A Clean Classroom

Help me give my students a clean learning environment. We need a Shark vacuum cleaner so that, despite budget cuts, my classroom rug can be cleaned each day.

My Project

Our school is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

It is in the San Fernando Valley and services children from many different backgrounds and many different socio-economic levels.

My six and seven year old students are eager to learn and are first grade reading and writing skills.

Our district has suffered through several years of budget cuts that have deeply impacted our ability to do our jobs. Part of those cuts include custodial staff. As a result, my classroom rug is vacuumed once a week. I would like to purchase a vacuum cleaner so that I can vacuum the rug daily. My classroom rug is used daily by 24 students. They read, sing, and play on this rug. A big portion of our day is spent sitting on this rug. It is very important to me to provide a clean learning environment for my students. It is my wish to be provided the resources to help this happen.

It is important to provide the best education and learning environment despite cuts to the state budget.

It is my goal to provide a clean, healthy classroom. A new heavy duty vacuum will help me do this.
