My Students
We have a diverse group of Pre-K students who are ready and excited to learn! With your support, they can grow, learn, and spread their excitement for education into their future academic career. Pre-K is a special place for children to learn how to get along with others while building self confidence and self esteem. They learn how to socialize with others, manage disagreements, and build key communication skills needed in the future.
We are curious and active learners who love to make new discoveries by exploring our surroundings.
It's hard for a four year old to sit and listen for long periods of time. That's why we learn through play! Our classroom materials are essential to our learning process. The materials we play with allow us to role play, reenact what we have learned, illustrate, create, build, rebuild, count, and manipulate water/sand flow. Sometimes we don't understand the purpose of an object so we play around and test our theories. Sometimes we'll think some more and try out a new ways to use our materials. We make observations and discuss what we notice. Through our discussions, we draw conclusions that help us to make sense of the world.
My Project
The first few weeks of September can be very rough. Children are still trying to adjust to the new school setting and get used to being apart from their caregivers for an extended period of time. After the initial shock wears off, our students find themselves in love with school. It's a place where they come to see friends, play, learn, and discover interests they never knew about. Some children become sad at the end of the day because they want to stay or during holiday breaks, they miss school and cannot wait to go back. It's such a heartwarming sight to watch a child fall in love with school and learning. However, there are days when students insist on coming even though they are sick.
I want to do my best to ensure that our classroom remains clean and sanitized throughout the year so our kids can stay germ-free and healthy as much as possible.
I am requesting various materials we use everyday but take for granted. Soap, paper towels, dispensers, wipes, and cleaning supplies will help our kids learn and play in a clean classroom. Our Pre-K classroom can get very dirty at the end of the day and that's okay because it shows me that a lot of learning took play. These materials will also help our kids learn to clean up after themselves and help us maintain a clean and healthy classroom!
