This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend a Title I school and are from diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds, namely Bangladeshi, Chinese, Hispanic, and French. 95% of them are Latino and African American. In my classroom, there are students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.
My students are an adorable, active bunch who come to school each day eager to learn and start their day.
Many of them leave home very early in the morning. So even before lunch, they are hungry and tired.
My students are a busy bunch of active kindergarteners and first graders. Some of them come to school without eating breakfast, so having snacks on hand, they'll be able to eat something to wake up their brains, getting them ready to learn. I am requesting crackers, cookies, pretzels, fruit snacks, juice drinks, and water. I'm also requesting cleaning supplies to help with a germ-free environment.
