Help me give my students basic gear and tools for an organized and thriving classroom! We are asking for chair bands, file holders, storage drawers, and pencil holders.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I provide services for children of various grades with speech and language impairments in grades kindergarten through eighth grade in an inner city, public school in New York City. Each one of my students has individual goals ranging from improvements in vocabulary, writing, reading, cognition, stuttering and speech articulation. My students and their families lack resources required for academic, speech and language improvements. I try my best to provide these resources to help them succeed in school and to improve their self-esteem.
My Project
Students need a safe, clean, and organized classroom with unique learning tools in order to learn, grow, and thrive. Basic resources help create this type of classroom, such a plastic storage containers to give all of our markers, crayons, glue sticks, folders, and art supplies a specific place to go. When each student knows where their class supplies go, they can easily clean up after themselves or get something they need without hesitation. An organized classroom always has an abundant amount of pencils readily available for their students to practice their newly learned concepts and to write their ideas down. And busy classrooms, have busy feet and fidget bands give those feet a safe place to move. The little things truly make a classroom a home.
