My Project
My students are a great group of students who are filled with a lot of energy. My students are a mixture of Brooklyn natives and recent immigrants to the country. I want to ensure that the space that they come to everyday is a space that not only acknowledges the beauty of their individual racial and cultural backgrounds but also appreciates it.
These wonderful humans deserve a space that acknowledges and appreciates their culture.
Books, posters, and cultural artifacts allow for students to feel visible and valued in the classroom. These posters, books and artifacts not only acknowledge students but also widens my platform as a teacher by providing teaching tools.
