A Classroom Should Be Clean and Organized For Learning
My students need organizational materials (storage carts and construction paper storage) and cleaning supplies to help organize and maintain a healthy classroom.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are so engaged with learning-we're creating a mess!
I teach in a very low income area at an urban high in one of the largest cities in Southern CA.
Most of my students are lacking basic essential skills-even at the high school level in my Chemistry class. Therefore, I am constantly bringing in engaging, exciting projects to grasp their attention and help them learn! My students are part of a Humanitas program, so for every unit we study in Chemistry I am challenging them with an art project. So far we have done stained glass, clay, paper mache, glass etching, posters and PowerPoint's. We're getting ready to Tie-dye, create jewelry, and make our own paper.
My Project
All of these projects have created a little chaos in my class! Glass shards everywhere, paper shuffled about, clay residue, my Chemistry class looks more like an art room than a lab! The organizational carts will help keep valuable art materials organized and easy for students to access for their projects. The paper organizers will allow all the colors of paper I have in the room to be separated so students can find and use the colors they need for their posters. The cleaning products and sponges are so we can make sure we keep the room clean so my students and I have a healthy place to learn and I can continue doing these projects with them!
With budget cuts, the custodian at my school is now responsible for cleaning 38 rooms.
She does the best job she can, but usually we get our floor swept and trashed emptied only. With almost 200 kids coming through my room daily, things get messy. Thank you for helping me to promote a safe and clean learning environment.
