A Classroom Rug to Keep Kindergarten Students Snug!

Help me give my students a cozy rug to help identify personal space while keeping our bottoms warm!

My Project

Certain COVID protocols have been lifted and we are finally allowed to have classroom rugs. My classroom went through some renovations this summer and our carpet was removed and replaced with tile. While the tile looks nice, it is cold and bare.

A gathering area is essential to our school day.

We sing calendar songs, listen to stories, have math talks, turn and talk with partners, play games, etc.

It is so important to me to get kids moving around the classroom and not just sitting at a table all day. A rug with designated sitting spots would really help my students be aware of their own personal space, keep their bottoms warm, and really provide a great learning environment.

I just returned from maternity leave and have been put into a situation where certain behaviors are impacting student learning. I truly believe having this new rug will not only help with providing a warm & calming learning space, but will also help majorly with behavior management. Students will know where to sit and will be able to sit comfortably.

Please consider donating to my first ever project! I have been a kindergarten teacher for 10 years and really don't like asking for help unless I truly need it.
