This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first grade students are passionate and joyful learners. They have made leads and bounds in their literacy progress, despite having lost in person instruction for Kindergarten last year.
My current classroom library is in shambles!
It's difficult to find books by topics of interest and a library organized by topics rather than reading level is difficult to put together! Regardless, I believe my students would benefit greatly as lifelong readers in having a library that is driven by their interests rather than ability.
With this project, I hope to redo my classroom library. Having plenty of bins will help me to organize my books into topics, and a roomy shelf will allow the space for students to see them all laid out. My goal is for students to be motivated as readers simply for the joy and pleasure that comes with reading.
