This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school serves a large number of English Language Learners and newcomers who only speak Spanish. I am in the process of creating an online check-out and return system for every book in our school so that students have a wider range of books to choose from. One of the greatest barriers to literacy is access to books, so greater access for our traditionally underserved students is critical to their literacy development.

Unfortunately, we do not have a wide range of books yet in our school libraries for our Spanish speaking population.

With your help, we will begin to address that. Thank you!
