Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we start a new school year, the first school experience for most of my students, I hope to grow the diversity in our classroom library. Through literature, we will learn about and celebrate all the differences that make us, our families and our friends so special. As we will also have a new class made up of friends with different abilities, we will learn through literature how we can be good friends. The baby dolls will provide my students many opportunities for social play where they can learn to cooperate, connect and self regulate. Lastly, our art supplies will provide us with the materials and mediums we need to create art that reflects who we are on the inside and outside.
With your support, these materials will provide my students many opprtunities to learn about inclusivity through literature, play and art while connecting and celebrating themselves and their friends.
