My Students

"Budget Cuts in Education." It's all we hear anymore. Unfortunately, the students suffer because the cuts always affect classroom resources.

I have the privilege of being able to teach Language Arts to 63 wonderful 6th graders in Moore, Oklahoma.

One of my favorite ways to teach the aspects of Language Arts is through novels. If I am able to use a novel we all consider a classic, then that's even better.

My Project

I would like a class set of Old Yeller and the audio CD so that we can read it together in class so that I can expose my students to this wonderful classic. Learning all the aspects of Language Arts through novels is such a wonderful way for students to be engaged while learning. I would love to be able to do that with this novel.

Being able to expose my students to stories they would never read on their own is so important to me.

Any chance I have to do that is always a great thing. I love to be able to instill in my students that "Everybody is a reader if they find the right book!"
