My Students

I am currently working at a school where all students receive free lunch. Most of the residents receive low incomes or are unable to work at all. The majority of my students live in poverty and are raised by single parents or grandparents. My students come to school ready to learn, but without the necessary materials to have a successful school year. My students don't have the every day items such as paper and pencils. Due to the lack of support, I have to provide everything that my students are unable to get.

My Project

My project is used to create a fun and relaxing classroom library for my students this upcoming school year. Reading is very important and a very critical part in learning. I will use the inflatable chairs for my students to sit and relax while reading some of their favorite books. The books will be placed inside the book baskets. I want my students to relax and feel comfortable while they are reading so the empire chairs would allow them to do so! They will sit in their empire chairs and read a book to a stuffed animal of their choice.

A lot of my students are unable to purchase books of their own, so I want them to be able to enjoy their favorites in my classroom.

I want them to have an area where they will fall in love with reading and not just do it!
