My Project

My students are third graders who have spent most of their academic career in a pandemic world where classroom libraries were closed. They have spent years reading on apps or doing online work, rather than diving into a good book due to this. Despite a challenging few years, they are resilient and enthusiastic about learning. Every day I look forward to going to work because of their positivity and motivated spirits.

I want them to have easy access to high interest books in their classroom so they don’t need to read on an iPad.

I am new to the grade level and have no books at their level. The books left in the room are falling apart.

Many of the books selected are all part of popular series. I intentionally chose book series so students can connect by reading the same series. My goal is they’ll each find a series they love and build a daily reading habit and a lifelong passion for reading!
