Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class has 22 Kindergartners from across the district, with various backgrounds, personalities, and interests. They are inquisitive children who are ready for learning. For many of them, this is the first year in a classroom. My students enter kindergarten with various levels of computer experience. They grow socially and academically throughout the year. During this important year, we build the foundation for their future.

My students are eager to learn and they love getting their hands on technology.

Technology is embedded in students' daily life. It is important to teach students how to properly use technology to further their learning. Through the use of computers in the classroom, children from all walks of life have the opportunity to assess a wide range of knowledge, available right at their fingertips.

My Project

My kindergartners love technology! We are lucky to have a Promethean Board in our classroom that we use for most of our lessons and center activities. My students love the engaging graphics that make our center activities self-correcting and fun. The problem is that I have to connect my laptop to the board in order for students to access these games. When I need to use my laptop for other activities, I have to disconnect it from the board. The students are then unable to play the educational games I created for them.

A Chromebook would make learning on the Promethean Board accessible to students at all times.

I want them to be able to use the technology that we have as much as possible. Please help us maximize the use of the technology that we have in our classroom by helping us get a Chromebook.
