My Project
My students are intellectual, vibrant students, capable of achieving phenomenal things. They are filled with hope, but are unsure about what the future holds. Some of them have overwhelming questions about whether they can make a difference. These insecurities can be stifling, and yet they are like caterpillars, transforming into butterflies.
Even in hard moments, my students are capable of greatness.
In a school that has limited resources, the gift of a printer, ink, and paper, will allow me to provide additional resources that will help them thrive. My AP Research students create a Process and Reflection Portfolio that documents stages of completing their research paper. If audited by College Board, these portfolios must be uploaded and submitted as evidence of their work. Providing copies has been difficult for me, but even more so for my students. Having these printed documents are vital to their success. My regular English classes suffer as well because of an inability to have them interact with text. Please give them the gift of mastering the skill of annotating. These resources would be the chance of a lifetime because it would be the gift that keeps on giving as annotating is also a beneficial skill in college. Having each resource would also create opportunities by enabling them to print resumes. Throughout the year we also engage in Reading bootcamps. Having printed copies are instrumental in the success of student learning. Access to a printer, ink, and paper would have a major impact in enhancing the educational experiences for my students.
