A Case for Guitars

My students need 12 protective cases for their guitars.

My Students

Students enjoy exploring different instrument tones and timbres. In my classroom, they play a variety of instruments and ensemble pieces. They learn to accompany the music - they sing! My goal is for students to be able to perform the music on their own without a teacher accompaniment.

Our school is diverse, with families from all over the world.

A large percentage of students speak more than one language. In our music program, we work to provide a strong music education for our students, considering many of them are not able to afford private music lessons. The school is very supportive of arts education for students and welcomes every opportunity for them to perform and share what they have learned. The students themselves have a variety of musical interests and passions, including singing, recorders, ukuleles, guitars, drumming and percussion ensembles.

My Project

Our school is fortunate to have a class set of guitars! It's wonderful! Unfortunately, we have a limited way to safely store them when in use by multiple classes and to transport them for use in performances. Our guitars did not come with cases, and we are fortunate to have racks to store them, but they do not protect the instruments when being moved around. We need 12 new protective cases for our guitars! Due to the high cost, this project requests only some of the cases we need, and over time we are hoping to have enough cases for all of our guitars.

The ability to quickly store the class set of guitars will allow for more instructional and practice time for students.

Students could transport them easily for performances, and the guitars would be less prone to damage, allowing them to last many years and be used by more students.
