My Students
This past year my sixth, seventh and eighth grade students learned in a completely digital setting. Only about 10% of my students returned by in person to learn for the last two months of school. I want to focus on giving helping meet my students social and emotional learning needs. This means promoting a fun atmosphere that encourages our youth to participate in group sports with their peers.
I strive to empower all my students to grow and be the best that they can be.
I want to give my students a great educational experience and have a FUN experience in our physical education program! All of my students are eligible to receive both the school breakfast and lunch daily for free. Most of our school population takes public transportation. We serve a very large and diverse ESOL population.
My Project
We need an equipment cart to organize, store and transport frequently used equipment items. As we enter new teaching units the cart would be changed out with different equipment. Ball bags can be very cumbersome to move.
The equipment cart could house hula hoops and jump ropes too!
Making equipment readily available will allow us to put more equipment into the hands of our students!
We could even add laundry baskets or crates to easily switch out smaller items and store them on the equipment cart. I also envision setting up the cart for my Unified PE class so that students can use a variety of equipment and have a choice in what activity they would like to do with their partner.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
