My Students
In order to be truly effective, it is not enough to simply show and tell young people all that you want them to learn. They need to have the chance to put their hands to work and develop motor memory. I'm sure you'll agree that there is more than one way to learn something.
My students agree!
They are eager to add their voices to the learning that is happening in our classroom. They are loquacious and intuitive and excited about learning. For youngster who, for the most part, have known little more than the four blocks of their housing project that lies across the street from our school, this addition to our burgeoning classroom will add another dimension to their academic growth and provide them access to the their learning that they would not have otherwise.
My Project
We need an easel for our meeting area that has room for our growing library of big books and will let us all read together and turn the pages effortlessly. We also need this new easel to have some good organization so that all of us can easily access materials that we'll use for word work, reading, and writing lessons and activities.
