Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
During our school year, my third grade students take part in many activities that are worth capturing on camera. Also, they have been learning to use PowerPoint and would love to exhibit their artistic abilities by including their own photographs.
I teach a great group of students in a low-income community.
The majority of my class this year is made up of English learners. My students get really motivated when we can integrate technology into our curriculum, and many of them do not get these types of opportunities at home.
My Project
A digital camera in our classroom can really transform how we capture student experiences during the school year. Not only can we use a camera to take pictures of our classroom experiences, but students can also gain experiences with photography. The students can capture pictures to use in PowerPoint presentations. Artists make choices in how they capture images, and they will be able to use their own images rather than ones found on the Internet.
With your help, we will acquire a digital camera which will last for years, and will allow many students to learn more about the art of photography.
This new tool might be just what some students need to motivate them to work more on their classroom presentations.
