This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a middle school special education resource teacher, my classroom is more than just a place to learn—it’s a safe space where students can be themselves. Many of my students face significant challenges both in and out of school, and I strive to create an environment where they feel seen, supported, and safe.
Flexible seating and sensory tools like fidget toys help meet their diverse emotional and learning needs, giving them comfort, choice, and a sense of ownership in their space.
These small items make a big impact on their ability to focus, self-regulate, and engage in learning.
