A Calmer Morning Security Screening Experience

Help me give my students storage tubs for a better morning experience while going through our new security system. These bins will make it easier for students to put their belongings to the side while walking through our Evolv system.

My Project

This school year, our district has implemented a new security system where students must put different supplies to the side as they walk through. At our school, students carry TONS of supplies. We've purchased plastic Dollar Tree baskets out of our own pocket, but they were not made to last. Students have had a much better experience when being able to place their items in a collection bin, similar to what is used in airports, andthen passing it to the side.

We set up tables after the screening for students to put their things back together.

Overall, this has been an anxiety-inducing experience for our kids, but the baskets have helped move things along quickly, efficiently, and calmly, as their supplies aren't falling all over the place. We want to continue, but we need better bins to support this process.
