My Project
My classroom services students with multiple levels of social/ emotional needs. Many of my students have difficulty calming down when upset. It is important to teach children that it is ok to take a break to “reset” when they are deregulated.
By providing a safe space for the students to calm down and regulate, we afford them the opportunity to access their setting more appropriately.
Students who are able to manage their emotions (either independently or with support) are more likely to be successful in school and build positive peer relationships.
