This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Starting fresh in a new 2nd grade classroom means building a space where every child feels safe, focused, and ready to learn. My goal is to create a classroom that supports both the academic growth and emotional well-being of my students. To do that, I’m asking for help in gathering calming tools and brain games that will meet students where they are—whether they need a moment to regroup or a challenge to stretch their thinking.
The calming materials (like fidget tools, soft sensory items, and breathing visuals) will be part of a quiet corner where students can regulate their emotions and return to learning with confidence.
The brain games (like puzzles, logic toys, and memory-building tools) will be used during transitions, early-finish times, and small group work to keep minds engaged in meaningful ways.
These resources will help my students build emotional resilience, sharpen their thinking skills, and enjoy learning in a space that honors their unique needs. With your support, I can create an environment where all students feel seen, supported, and set up for success.
