This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kindergarten is more than a place for learning numbers, letters, and sounds- it's where you learn to be part of a team.
These kids are enthusiastic about learning and growing together as a group.
They are encouraging toward each other and everyone loves to pitch in!
Our school services some of the poorest students in San Diego but that doesn't stop them (or me!) from giving it all we've got! We are reaching high toward our academic and social goals.
My Project
We need more engaging calendar tools to help encourage a connection to our math/calendar time. During this time, students learn how to identify coins, skip count, and read a calendar. They also learn how to take turns and listen to others. This is a very important part of our day!
My students are ready to dive into their learning and with these songs, puppets, whiteboards, and other tools, they will be more excited than ever to come to school ready to learn!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
