A Bright Way to Learn

Help me give my students a light table and manipulatives to help them practice learning letters and numbers in a fun and tactile way!

My Students

I teach kindergarten in the suburbs of Las Vegas. My students will be new to our school and for some of them this will be their very first experience in a school setting.

One thing about kindergarteners is that they are usually one of two things at the start of the school year, they are either so excited to be at school or somewhat fearful of the new experience.

I hope to help them learn to love school and grow their excitement for learning. This coming school year will be wonderful as I will get to be with my students in real life again!

My Project

Kindergarteners enjoy learning in multiple modalities. This light table and manipulatives will give them just that! It will be a creative opportunity for them to practice the academic skills we are working on in class. It will support their letter/sound recognition (RF.K.1d, RF.K.2d, RF.K.3c) and number recognition and counting, (K.CC.A.1, K.CC.A.2, K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4a, K.CC.C.6, K.CC.C.7), shape recognition (K.G.A.2, K.G.A.3), rhyming, story sequencing and so much more!

They will be strengthening their academic skills while having fun working on them!

This will engage them and help them to continue moving forward in their academic journey.

Additionally, with the enhanced cleaning protocols for COVID, these manipulatives can be easily cleaned and sanitized for the students to use safely.
