This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am thrilled to embark on my teaching journey in a preschool classroom dedicated to special needs students. This August, I will welcome 18 incredible prekindergarten students into my classroom, where I am committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment.
To achieve this, I need your support to prepare our classroom with essential materials tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Each student will have a personalized bin filled with activities that align with their individualized education program (IEP) goals, helping them to reach their full potential. By providing individualized resources, I can create and laminate visual aids that will empower my students to communicate their needs and desires more effectively. I am also eager to create a cozy corner to support social-emotional learning and to provide a safe place for my students to learn how to self-regulate. We need sensory toys, a rug, a cleaning play set, dress-up costumes, play food toys, and more.
