This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in Richmond, I get a chance to work with generational talent on a daily basis. Our students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that let them think outside the box.

While our students are outstanding, our air quality is not.

We're nestled in the heart of Richmond's Iron Triangle, one of San Francisco's most industrial neighborhoods. Our front door is a little less than 3 miles from the two largest oil refineries in the Bay. As our air quality plummets and the pandemic carries on, students are finding it harder to focus than ever before.

My Project

With your contributions, I can provide our students with powerful air filters, cleaning supplies, and quality sports equipment for outdoor exercise. The items on this list have been carefully selected to have the greatest impact on student achievement. This includes an air filter to protect students from airborne viruses, sporting equipment to give students a healthy outlet at recess, and LED lighting to provide an engaging learning environment. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help increase their academic achievement.
