This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are kindergarten and 1st grade students who are in the classroom two days a week and three days a week working one-on-one with their families. They are amazing children whose actions always come from their hearts. We spend our days in the classroom with lots of hands-on activities that get us up and moving.
My school focuses on learning through classical education.
Students are encouraged to play a major role in their personalized learning plan through goal setting and project-based learning. The children have voices and a choice in their daily learning.
My Project
I love to incorporate the outside into our classroom. This is even more important to me now that we must wear face masks in our classroom. I want to provide more opportunities for my students to take their learning outside. We have the whiteboards, clipboards, markers, and pencils but I would love a brand new classroom iPad that we can use to play music, watch videos, take pictures of student A-HA moments, and even record our observations while we are outside.
I want my students to feel healthy and happy at school and I know opening up our classroom to the outside will make a BIG difference!
Please help provide me the opportunity to make our whole classroom flexible by being able to take ALL our lessons outside whenever we can. Writing, math, reading, science, history, and art can happen outside with the right tools.
