This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are devastated to find out that our rug got ruined over summer vacation and filled with black mold from water damage. Having a big rug in a first grade classroom is important for several reasons. It provides a designated space where students can gather for group activities, fostering a sense of community and cooperation. When children work together on the rug, they learn valuable social skills such as sharing, turn taking and listening to others! Additionally, starting the day with a morning meeting on a rug helps create a routine that can make students feel more secure and ready to learn. This practice encourages open communication, allows students to express their thoughts and feelings, and set a positive tone for the day. Please help me make this dream happen for my classroom!!
