My Students
My students are funny, intelligent, and eager to learn. They love reading, however, our classroom library is extremely outdated which tends to hinder their desire to read daily.
Our school is Title I school due to the number of low socioeconomic families served.
Many of my students struggle with getting everyday supplies for school, let alone new books to read. Providing this new classroom library will give them a wide variety of books to choose from that they actually WANT to read to increase their engagement and make them EXCITED about reading!
My Project
By providing my students access to a rich leveled classroom library, I will be able to promote greater amounts of reading, increased reading frequency, and more diverse reading experiences among my students, thus helping them to attain greater levels of reading achievement!
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
These new books will also help improve their reading comprehension, fluency, and stamina.
Currently, our classroom library is lacking the new books that kids are interested in! I have chosen these books specifically as they are very high interest for my students.
