My Project

Every year I give our middle grade students an opportunity to make suggestions of fiction and non-fiction titles they'd like to see added to our school library. For a multitude of reasons-mostly budgetary, some supply availability-some get left off our order to our collective disappointment. Rather than try and pick up the remaining titles here and there over the course of the rest of the school year, I'd like to surprise my enthusiastic readers with the books that were not included in this year's order.

Our middle school students love to see that their book requests are heard and that their personal interests are acknowledged by seeing those titles on the library shelves.

Our students not only enjoy the diverse storytelling of these fiction novels, but they have a wide variety of interests- from cooking to electronics and everything in between- and I want to honor their requests to encourage them to keep reading and keep learning.
