My Students
"What is so great about an eBook?" asks one student. An eBook gives you the opportunity to have multiple books available to you any time within minutes.
Using and learning about technology is a must in today’s society to prepare students for tomorrow.
As an educator and information specialist, I feel that we should teach our students multiple ways of experiencing information. In the Library, we have books that students can pull off the shelves and read but there is more ways to read a book. With our technology today, students are able to experience books in a whole new way.
With all of the budget cuts in our schools today, it is getting harder and harder to provide students with the technology they need to be prepared for today’s world. My school is in a rural area of South Carolina where many of our kids are not able to experience technology in their own homes. I hope by providing them with the opportunity to experience electronic books and new technology will motivate and build life-long readers and information seekers.
My Project
My students need an electronic Nook eReader with a cover for reading books. Electronic Books (eBooks) are a very exciting and different way of reading for our kids which will pique their interest in wanting to explore and read. In order for students to experience eBooks they must have the technology available to support these types of books. A Nook eReader would be a great way to allow students to experience books and technology in a new and stimulating way.
With Nook eReaders available for our students, they can enjoy a whole new approach to reading while using technology.
As a media specialist, it is my job to provide students will as many outlets to information as possible. An eReader will allow our students to learn a new technology while increasing their vocabulary and understanding of words and information through reading.
