My Project
A Book of Their Own: Help Bring Our Read-Aloud Home
In our classroom, read-aloud time is more than just a daily routine—it’s a shared journey through stories that spark imagination, foster empathy, and build community.
For many of my students, this is their first experience falling in love with a book. But when the final chapter ends, most of them don't have the means to revisit that story on their own.
This project aims to change that.
With your support, I hope to purchase a personal copy of our class read-aloud for each student. Whether it’s a beloved novel that made them laugh, think, or see the world differently, owning their own copy gives students the chance to reread, share with family, and start building a home library—something many currently lack.
These books won’t just sit on shelves; they’ll be read under blankets at bedtime, brought to summer programs, and revisited on rainy days. Most importantly, they’ll be theirs. In a world where many things feel uncertain, the simple gift of a book can remind a child that their story matters, too.
Your donation—no matter the size—helps put a book in a child’s hands and the love of reading in their heart. Thank you for helping turn readers into lifelong learners, one page at a time.
