My Students
Our Coastal Georgia school is a Title I high-poverty school, with over 70% of our students receiving free or reduced price lunch.
Our classroom is filled with twenty-three brilliant third graders who love learning!
We always have fun and exciting things going on in our classroom. We strive to create a positive learning environment. It's important to keep students engaged and intrigued. Learning happens when students are engaged. The lessons in our classroom are designed to meet the needs and interests of all learners.
My Project
The purpose of this project is to put my students' favorite books directly in their hands. I want my students to be able to keep their favorite books and read them whenever and wherever they'd like. The Book Fair recently came to our school. There were students in my classroom unable to purchase books. Students should be able to own their own books regardless of their family's income.
I would like my students to have their own books.
I have chosen some of their favorite titles: Dog Man, Dork Diaries, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the Phantom Tollbooth. Having books at home can positively influence reading proficiency. I know that the addition of these books will help boost their love of reading.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
