A Book Is a Gift You Can Open Everyday!

Help me give my students these books. We have been given a new curriculum to work with but there is just one issue... we do not have almost any of the books that align with the new curriculum!

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year, my classroom consists of 22 incredible first graders who come in every single morning excited about learning, and can't wait to see what is in store for them every day. The students in my school district come from a very diverse variety of backgrounds and cultures. Of my 22 students, I have 9 English Language Learners in my classroom as well as 17 students who have open Response to Intervention (RTI) files. Our classroom is a community where students respect each other, and the materials and resources in the classroom. Three-quarters of our school's population qualifies for free and reduced cost lunch.

During the school year, many of my students mention that they do not have enough supplies and resources to bring to school, so I want to ensure that I am giving my students the best, and most enriching experiences at school every single day.

My Project

These books will be used in school and at home, as well as daily read aloud stories. These new books align to our new reading curriculum. As students read and listen to these stories, they will begin to see themselves as readers, authors, and illustrators!

These books will provide experiences and adventures that will build my students' love of reading.

These read alouds will develop my students' vocabulary, provide mentor texts, and inspire engagement that will help my students develop into lifelong readers and writers. These books will help to spark and continue my students' passion for reading and writing.
