Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Being a 6th grade teacher at an elementary school comes with many challenges. One of them is that our library is geared more towards the lower primary grades instead of the upper grades. Finding books that are relevant and interesting to my kids is quiet difficult.
My students are eager to learn about the world and love reading a variety of topics and genres, specially graphic novels, fun facts, and adventure.
My students are caring, they are special, and unique in ways that you can't imagine. They love to read, but it is important to incorporate materials that capture their interest and keeps them engage, which is usually not the case for 6th graders at an elementary school. Your generous donation would help me open an immense amount of windows and worlds to explore.
