My students need books!!! The books in this cart are classics that match the reading units we do. They are multi-purpose and can serve as read aloud, shared reading, or independent reading adventures!
In order to describe my students, I must first share a quote from Jackie Kennedy. She said, “There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.”
The students that walk through my door each day are eager to do just that, engage in not only new knowledge, but also new experiences.
They love the adventures we are able to go on together through stories and use those adventures to enlarge their world.
It’s always a pleasure to see a kid come into my class who first sees reading as a chore, change throughout the year to view reading as a fun escape to another world!
My Project
These materials each serve a specific purpose for our reading units. Each title has been specifically chosen to match alongside our literacy units throughout the year. You will see I have asked for multiple copies of certain titles because once the books are read whole class, it is my hope to circulate them through our classroom library and allow students to enjoy the texts all year long.
Read aloud books are extremely important in fostering excitement about reading.
When we sit down and enjoy a book together is when students can really see how much fun reading actually is. We get to experience the adventures together and in doing so create a classroom community that strives towards a common goal of becoming great readers.
The best part about this donation is that, with care for the books, they will continue to reach more and more students each year!
