My Project
These books will continue to enhance the high school library in which I am striving to update the reading material. The past year has been spent weeding out outdated material, organizing shelves and carts. There is still work to do but my students and staff are begging for new books. I would love to provide them with these resources if I can. My library is a place students can visit 3 days a week at their leisure during lunch times, study halls or if their teachers allow them to come down during a class period. For years, this library was unused and we are reviving it. Students and staff are so excited to see it open again! I do not want this excitement to fade. All of these books have been chosen by student and staff input, by either verbal communication or written list. I know these books will be welcomed with much excitement and well taken care.
These books will allow my students to continue to read independently at their own grade level, in their own language and with materials that are interesting to them.
My goal is to help my students continue to grow in their reading and their reading ability. The best way to do this is to read MORE. This year I have seen so much interest in the library and I hope it continues to grow. This project will help greatly with this by providing my students with new, exciting reading material.
