Help me give my students the paperback novel to read for 12th grade English class. Be like Dolly Parton and give them new books of their own to annotate, highlight and underline and read anywhere!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is for English 12 Science Fiction classes at a public school near downtown Los Angeles. 35 students need new books to own.
Please be like Dolly Parton and provide new books for our economically challenged students.
The students would benefit from the practice of annotation while reading, writing in their books, highlighting, underlining, etc., priviledged learning use that only ownership of a book provides.
A 98% minority school, 95% free lunch participation, no books at home, nobody read to them as children, and now some of our best students, resilient and overcoming all odds, could use a new book.
Our advanced English literature curriculum includes selections from Kurt Vonnegut's collection of short stories, "Welcome to the Monkey House," so looking for 35 copies. We appreciate anything you can afford to help us, thank you.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
