My Students
Our school is a Title 1 school which means our kids come from low-income families. We implement rigorous lessons daily to ensure our students are getting what they need academically and emotionally. Many times there is a lack of parental support so our school is the home away from home for some of our kids. I do my best to provide a positive learning environment that allows all of my students to feel loved and appreciated when they enter each day.
My Project
These two novels will enhance 5th grade Social Studies content.
Bridging the gap from nonfiction to fiction is the goal!
As my students weave their way through the study of World War 2 and the Cold War, these novels will captivate them with historical fiction stories to bring the facts to life.
There is no doubt that holding a personal copy of a book, increases student engagement with a story. As eyes dance from line to line, my kids will be captivated by the suspense and determination of the main characters.
