This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are hoping for a classroom set of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief for a novel study.
We want to continue to inspire a love of reading in our students.
We will read this novel as a class as well as discuss and analyze the characters, themes, vocabulary, and history. Students will also have to opportunity to research, write, and create various projects during our learning unit. Our 6th graders are studying ancient civilizations, including the impact of Ancient Greek Mythology, during their cultural rotations and this will be a fantastic cross-curricular lesson to enhance their learning.
Not only will this classroom set be used this year, but for years to come.
