Help me give my students these classic award winning children's books filled with morals and exemplar friendships. Young elementary students need role models when it comes to building trust and community. These books teach just that.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the pleasure of working in an elementary school in the Bronx with a large immigrant population. Many of my students just moved to America and have limited proficiency in English and their first language. My students come from all around the world and bring with them their rich cultural backgrounds. Our school system is very foreign to them and these students need your support. Please help my students receive the tools they need to be successful in our classroom and our country.
My Project
September is a pivotal month for building a classroom community. Young students need daily reminders to inspire them to be the best classmates, learners, and friends they can be. These books each have a valuable moral. Some teach about diversity, some about the painful aftermath of bullying, and others about the hard work that goes into maintaining a loving community. Through fictional characters these classic books will demonstrate the power of doing the right thing, whether it is sharing with a friend, or standing up for what is right. The lessons learned from these classics will stick with these students for years to come.
